This morning I built the world's easiest landing page builder, using Claude Code and Vercel, and I practically finished the whole thing before I went to my office. This was my first time dabbling with Claude Code. I've pushed projects to Vercel before, using Claude (Sonnet 4.6) and Hermes.
Claude Code is a token hog and I ate a lot of tokens for breakfast. First I loaded up with Claude Pro. $25. I quickly hit my limit as I prompted Claude Code on my terminal. So I loaded up more tokens for $75. (They gave me a 10% discount.) I got stumped with the auth for this project which sent me on a back and forth battle with Claude. And I finished up those tokens, and reloaded another $75. (I tried $100 but they didn't give a discount for it.)
After a lot of prompting back and forth, I got the project to work.
The concept is easy – anyone can create a landing page by simply telling the app what kind of landing page they need (e.g. a real estate project sales page), share a Google Drive link (e.g. real estate development info including floor plans, price lists and images), set up a few options (what details they want to collect, who to email leads to, and what link to show the user next), and… that's it. Click publish (I made it display quirky publishing messages to add character). And in a minute (or two), the landing page is done.
Register, confirm your email, and you get a link and QR code. Landing page visitors get tallied. Leads get tracked. And right now, it's free. You can imagine the cost of tokens, yet despite that the cost to generate the landing page is, well, very cost effective.
But what does this mean? Creating apps like this can be done in the morning. Tomorrow, someone can copy this exact concept and build their own. Building apps has become commoditized. What an app does is no longer a competitive advantage. You can't build a moat around ideas that someone else can take in an instant.
What is your moat? The audience you build. The trust and relationships. And providing your followers with these solutions means that, even if a competitor rips off and duplicates it, they can't take your loyal followers away from you.
